The Beauraing Sanctuary

  • Religious heritage

Beauraing, winter 1932-1933. A dark, icy era: the second world war is about to start. And yet, a glimmer of hope appears in the night.

Between November 29th and January 3rd, the Virgin Mary would appear 33 times to 5 children: Fernande, Gilberte et Albert Voisin, Andrée and Gilberte Degeimbre.

The exact location where it happened, l'Aubépine is accessible to all, day and night. The votive chapel, a place of contemplation and prayer within the Sanctuary centre is open every day between 8.30 am and 7 pm.

The other sanctuaries (Saint-Jean crypt, Rosaire church, Superior church) are open on request.

A guided tour of the sanctuaries can be organised on request.

The welcoming desk (point i) is open every day in season and weekend afternoons out of season. Pilgrims can discover several audio-visual projections there.
