The program of the Carnival
Saturday is devoted to collecting wood for the preparation of the big fire. Volunteer collecting is done in a fun atmosphere with the support of a fanfare.
The Friday following this harvest sees the delivery of the key of the city for the official opening of the Sunday afternoon festivities; the great carnival procession has more than a thousand participants, thanks to the gathering of groups and musical societies of the region. For more than three hours, all the streets of the Mosan city jingle with the sound of different groups and music companies which finish the journey by a giant rondeau.
Monday and Mardi Gras are reserved for balls and festivities for children, without forgetting the very folk race of the boys of coffee through the locality, in expectation of the big event of the following Saturday.
That day, on the site of the Romanesque Tower, the macrâle's process is punctuated by a remarkable fireworks display. This popular tradition is respected. The Amaytois and all their friends can welcome the spring nearby ... in anticipation of the next carnival.
