This vineyard, planted in 2001, streteches over Thuin's suspended gardens. The very first harvest, in 2003, proved a real success. So much that the wine produced has now its own Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée: Côtes de Sambre et Meuse.

The vineyard

These estate counts 1,000 plants along the terraced gardens. The latter, facing south and protected by walls produce quality grapes of the Régent variety, which adapted perfectly to the local climate. The so-called "reasoned" approach is used for this winegrowing: only the strict minimum of chemical products is used to treat them.

The wine

The vineyard produces a gentle, natural red wine, which is vinified and kept at the Biercée distillery. It is then aged 6 months in oak barrels.
