Come and discover the largest saffron plantation in Belgium. In the heart of Hesbaye, immerse yourself in spices and let yourself be carried away by its exotic flavors.

A pinch of exotism

Once the most expensive spice in the world, saffron is now widely used - for cooking, dyeing fabric...

Éric and Sabine abandoned traditional farming and breeding to launch the first professional saffron plantation in Belgium in 2009, which today counts more than 600,000 bulbs.

The Cotchia saffron plantation is the largest in the country and offers the opportunity to discover saffron through a visit and tastings all year round, with a highlight during flowering in October.

Saffron is grown by hand with respect for nature, and inspires many products available on site: liqueurs, teas, syrups, vinegar...

Visits are in French, Dutch and German and by reservation only.

We do our best to keep you informed. It's best, however, to check the latest news with the attraction you are visiting, or operator you have booked an activity with. Read our travel advice.
