This tower, built in 1388 and 20 metres, was originally part of the fortifications. It's only in 1746, after Namur was besieged and the church destroyed, that it would be chosen as the official belfry. It had already been equipped with a clock in the 16th century, which signalled the opening and closure of the external city gates. UNESCO has now recognised the belfry as part of the World Heritage.
