The Mellier forges are part of the remarkable cultural heritage of the steel industry in the Ardenne in the 17th and 18th century.

Built in 1617, the Mellier forges stayed in activity until 1805. A spruce forest slowly replaced the industrial landscape.

The site was listed as main cultural heritage of Wallonia in 1980. Remains of 17th century forges, a dam bridge, a pond, the postman's house (1845), the charcoal house, the ore house, the refinery, the small forge, the lime kilns and a few other ruins can still be seen
