Listen to the bells ringing at the very top of the belfry of Tournai: a memorable experience indeed

  • Monument
  • Architectural heritage

UNESCO World Heritage site since 1999, the belfry of Tournai is the oldest in Belgium. Visitors are invited to make their way up the tower by taking the 257 steps stairs to the Bell Ringer's room to listen to an amazing concert.

A splendid panorama of Tournai and its area await from the top of the building. The belfry is part of the cultural trail in the city's historic heart.

Can't face going up the stairs? Simply sit in the nearby Folklore Museum gardens, a perfect place to listen to the bells ringing.

An exceptionally clear chime

Since its renovation in 2004, the 55 bells carillon of the belfry of Tournai is compared to a Rolls Royce in terms of its quality. Learn all about its history with this experience. You might even get the chance to try the bell ringer's keyboard...

This is one of the only places in Belgium where you can see such a concert live.
