When creating furniture, lightings and decorative objects, Belgian designer Benoît Deneufbourg focuses on two concepts: efficiency and simplicity. This new exhibition at the Grand Hornu features some of his masterpieces as well as projects developed with Walloon companies and artisans.
The first part of the exhibition
Here are presented ideas the artists played and experimented with for brands. With each finished objects is presented the creative process, sketches, blueprints, samples and pictures. Visitors also get to discover the designer's doubts and understand his choices through the whole project.
The second part of the exhibition
Maps, drawings, research, documents will unfold a different side of the artist's passions: interior design. Benoît Deneufbourg presents two full-scale projects for the occasion:
- the set up of a residence for artists
- the renovation of the Grand Hornu's cafeteria
