  • The most beautiful villages of Wallonia

Perched on the heights of Condroz, above the Samson valley, Thon is surrounded by stunning green meadows. This sweet little village, which has kept its picturesque charm, offers amazing views of the region.

A village of many castles

Thon-Samson, as you can guess, originally were two separate villages, Thom and Samson. Take a stroll through the pretty streets to admire its traditional limestone houses and stunning panoramas on the region. Make sure to have a look at:

  • The Saint-Remy church, built in a classical style (1780)
  • The fortified farm with its medieval dungeon
  • The ruins of a fortress, of which two towers still stand beautifully
  • The Samson rocks

Go underground

The Scladina Cave, a few kilometres from the village, is well worth a detour. To learn more about the place - one the mains prehistorical sites in Belgium - do visit the museum there.
