- The most beautiful villages of Wallonia
This charming village in the Condroz region of Namur province stretches like a ribbon along its main street.
Set on a small hillock, some buildings stand out: the 18th century Church of the Nativity (listed and beautifully restored), the presbytery and a 17th century barn.
On the pediment of the old village school, the last teacher and the last children in the playground are immortalised in stone.
The site is crossed by the old Tamines-Dinant railway line, but all you hear nowadays is the gentle rattle of the ‘railcars’ (‘draisines’) which enable many visitors to admire the rare beauty of this valley.
The association "Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie"
Created in 1994 and inspired by the French equivalent, the association "Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie" awards its label to the most beautiful countryside sites of Wallonia.
Listed buildings and outstanding patrimony (in a preserved environment) go hand in hand with the inhabitants' will to share their quality of life.
