Rochefort is a generous region whether in its welcome or cuisine. The local chefs are amazingly creative and passionate: expect mind wowing dishes inspired by the local terroir. Our tip? Go for starter, main and dessert.

The Rochefort Cheese

Rochefort has its very own abbey cheese, made following the Trappist monks' original recipe. You will find are several varieties in the shops: traditional, semi-cured, with hazelnuts, seaweeds, basil...

The Trappist Beer

This brown beer brewed in the Abbey of Saint-Remy in Rochefort has a lot of character! A refreshing, artisanal brew: love at first sip.

Sabayon made with Trappist Beer

You may have tried this delightful dessert but oh, Rochefort prepared it its own way, jazzing up the sugar and egg yolk mix with a dash of local beer. Add to this a scoop of vanilla ice cream... Heaven.

The Brasserie de la Lesse

This craft brewery is 1/a social cooperative 2/a laboratory experimenting with alternative solutions in response to economic, social, energetic and environmental issues. The result? Splendid brown, amber, blonde and white beer.
