In the south of the province of Namur, Laforêt, one of the prettiest villages in Wallonia, has managed to preserve the typical character of the villages of yesteryear and its rich heritage.
Located along the Semois, this rustic and charming village brings together, around the Sainte-Agathe church, small farms made of local schist ansdecorated in the local way: lucky and protective hearts on the barns, œil-de-bœuf windows, wooden doors and window frames...
A 2 km interpretation circuit, dotted with educational panels, helps visitors know the village better.
In Laforêt
- Tobacco dryers which bear witness to the ancient activity which made Laforêt's fortune
- Water troughs, wash houses and fountains where you can imagine women washing clothes
- The pont de claie, a temporary bridge rebuilt every summer over the Semois and which formerly allowed the passage of farmers and livestock
