Did you know?

A fascinating number of sites (belfries, mines...) and folkloric events (Binche canival, Doudou de Mons...) in Wallonia have been listed as cultural heritage by UNESCO. The Famenne-Ardenne Geopark has recently been added for its geological value.

What is a UNESCO Geopark?

UNESCO Global Geoparks are single, unified geographical areas where sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and sustainable development.

Contrasted geography and unique landscapes

Set between the depression of the Famenne, the large plateau of the Ardenne and the Calestienne. This remarkable relief created exceptional caves, such as the Han-sur-Lesse, Rochefort and Hotton ones.

A unique destination in Wallonia

Picturesque villages, enchanting castles, meandering rivers and thick woodlands... are sure to delight you. Don't forget Durbuy, th Han-sur-Lesse wildlife park and the Rochefort Trappist beer!
