The Terra Nova Visitor Centre

Based in former barracks of Terra Nova, the Visitor Centre retraces 2000 years of European urban and military evolution through the history of Namur and its citadel. This brings interesting opportunities to reflect on our world and society - past, present and future. You are more than welcome to discover the museum on your own or join one of the guided tours.

This includes:

  • A sightseeing tour with the touristic train, complete with historical comments
  • A guided tour of the underground tunnels of the citadel

  • Access to the Terra Nova visitor centre

Groups welcome everyday but advance booking is required.


The Terra Nova site is fully accessible to travellers with reduced mobility.


A shuttle links the town centre of Namur and the Citadel You will find two stop in the city: at the railway station and at Place de l'Ange (for the latter, every day but Saturdays). A return ticket is 2€ per person.

  • Wednesdays, weekends, public holidays and school holidays: tours in French at 11 am and 3 pm, tours in Dutch at 1 pm

April 1st to September 30th: open everyday

Annual closure December 24th to January 1st included
