Didier Comès: a famous post war comic book artist | An exhibition at the Abbey of Stavelot

Didier Comès is one of the most famous comic book artists in post-war Belgium. His work, mainly in black and white, is quite varied, going to detailed realism to full abstraction. The author, who grew up listening to legends filled with dwarves and wizards, saw Wallonia as the most mysterious land, a fascination clear in his drawings. The exhibition at the Abbay of Stavelot features his masterpieces as wells as references (historical and folkloric alike) to what inspired him.
