MAMCD: Durbuy's Museum of modern and contemporary art

The MAMCD was created in 2018 to offer a new angle on Durbuy: a cultural rather than touristic one. Nestled in the Halle aux Blés, a building listed as main heritage of Wallonia, at the heart of the old part of Durbuy, this museum features Marcel Lucas's work as well as temporary exhibitions promoting Belgian artists.

Marcel Lucas' work and temporary exhibitions

Thanks to its partnership with the Marcel Lucas Foundation, the Musée d’Art Moderne et Contemporain de Durbuy (MAMCD) presents in its permanent collection 80 paintings by the artists.

Twice a year, the AMCD will open temporary exhibitions putting forward renowned Belgian artists as well as rising stars. Durbuy wishes to over a wide selection of art to its citizens, tourists and schools.

Durbuy's contemporary museum

Durbuy wanted to increase its cultural importance - a huge success thanks to the Musée d’Art Moderne et Contemporain.

The Halle aux Blés, built in the 14th century, was listed as exceptional heritage of Wallonia in 1976. The building, renovated in 2004, stretches its exhibition space along 3 floors.
