Perched on a 60-metre-high rocky outcrop, the castle of Modave castle overlooks the Houyoux valley. Do stop by to enjoy a wonderful travel through time.
The Modave castle owes its actual architecture to Count Jean-Gaspard-Ferdinand de Marchin who renovated it between 1652 and 1673. A few original parts - its medieval dungeon for example, were kept.
Step in to discover how wealthy, luxurious life was at the time. The multilingual audio guide will give you additional details about the 25 rooms as you go along. Make sure you enjoy the view on the 50-hectares natural reserve by the castle and the valley too!
A French-style park
Take a stroll in the French-style park by the castle. Its gardens, redesigned in the 19th century, feature stunning rose beds and yew tree edges.

Guided tours can be arranged in French, Dutch, German or English.
Visitors will find a brasserie in the basement, perfect for a coffee, lunch or snack.
The ground floor (representing 2/3 of the visit) of the castle is accessible to persons with reduced mobility. There are parking spaces reserved for them and adapted toilets on site.
Free for children under 12 when accompanied by an adult.
