The BAM presents Niki de Saint-Phalle. Ici tout est possible. the first large exhibition about the artist in Belgium. In mons, from September 15, 2018 to January 13, 2019.

Niki de Saint-Phalle is an iconic female artist from the XXth century, the exhibition will retrace her carreer, her vision of the world, present her imagination as a full power in a male world and what makes Niki de Saint-Phalle as a committed, feminist artist.

Niki de Saint-Phalle, the free artist

To equal or surpass male artists who were at the time dominating the art world, Niki de Saint-Phalle used as many platforms as she could: painting, sculpture, public performances rather than just museum ones.

This art exhibition will feature a wide selection of her pieces to show the evolution of her art through time, materials and themes.

A few words about Niki de Saint-Phalle

Born Catherine Marie-Agnès Fal de Saint-Phalle in 1930, Niki is a French artist.
In 1953, she starts painting and decides to become an artist.
She is the only women in the Born in the Nouveaux Réalistes movement (she will will work with Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg). Her work will be on show in no time in Paris and New-York.
In the 60s, she starts the famous "Nanas" and her new passion: outdoors sculptures.
Her work is now present all around the world, including in the most famous museums.
