With its magnificent towers and beautiful wood panels, the Château de Vêves offers a magical visit. Listed as exceptional heritage of Wallonia, this medieval building is considered one of the most beautiful in Belgium.
Renovated between 1969 and 1979, the castle is now open to the public.
History
Owned by Pépin de Herstal in the 8th century, it then became the fortress of the Sires de Beaufort (which they rebuilt in 1410), then the residence of their descendants, the Counts of Liedekerke Beaufort.
The Château de Vêves is seen a brilliant example of military architecture.
