How pleasant to cycle along the beautiful Semois, a river that has changed little through time.

Vresse-sur-Semois, nestled along the Semois and protected like a jewel by forests, has inspired many landscape painters... The stage is set for this splendid bike ride along the waterway.

The village, at the edge of the region and the province of Namur, remained at human scale, so did the iconic Saint-Lambert stone bridge. The first kilometres offer a lovely introduction to the Semois.

Along the river, motorways feel so far away: no pollution, nor noise. The Semois preserved its nature, keeping its flow wild and free. The trail will get you to Alle.

Back on the opposite bank, the atmosphere proves as charming. In summer, a footbridge made of weaved wood is thrown across the Semois: it was originally made by tobacco workers who could join arable and fertile lands quicker. A little more cycling and you are now in Laforêt (one of the prettiest villages in Wallonia) where you can relax at the café-deli Serpolet and enjoy this stunning landscape.
