Located in Falaen, at the confluence of the Flavion and Molignée, the ruins of the Montaigle castle will seduce the poet in you...
Montaigle offers a real journey through time. With a little imagination, you can picture is in all its glory, as it was in medieval times. Nature may have reclaimed it, but the site retains an unequalled grandeur.
Silex tools found nearby, suggest men lived here in prehistoric times already. A small garrison is thought to have been built under the Roman empire, then a first castle in year 900. The one you can see today dates to the 14th century.
