Discover the oldest religious building in Liège: the Saint-Barthélemy Collegiate Church . Located in the center of Liège, a few steps from the Meuse river, this amazing century building can be visited any day of the week.

Like Saint-Denis and Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy church retains a marked defensive aspect in its architecture.

Its construction was completed at the end of the 12th century, with the exception of the neoclassical portal added in 1782.

The baptismal font

The baptismal font was originally installed in the baptistery of Notre-Dame-aux-Fonts, a small church attached to Saint-Lambert Cathedral and now destroyed. They constitute a remarkable masterpiece of goldsmithing.

  • Visiting the font and the church is 7 days a week, without appointment: you can check the opening times here.  Groups can book a visit.
  • Organ and carillon concerts are regularly organized there
  • Specific tours to see the organ and/or carillon can be made by prior appointment.
