In this museum, located in the province of Hainaut, time seems to have stopped. There are over 40 rooms to explore, each revealing a different facette of daily life as it was in the past centuries in Wallonia.

There, the life of yesteryear still exists, recreated through many rooms: classroom, mill, craftsmen's vintage tools and machines... Work was different then, the same gesture repeated a thousand times.

A living museum

The Musée de la Vie Rurale offers activities and activities throughout the year

May: farmers and craft market

Artisans will present their trade: blacksmiths, carpenters, schoolmaster, bakers, coffee roasters, rope braiders, spinners...

July: the museum comes to life

Meet artisans, admire threshing machines and antique tractors, see how cereals were threshed in the old days (manually and mechanically), indulge in a carriage ride, join the evening concert and Harvest dinner (booking required).

September: party at the museum

Craftsmen will join once more to present their skills: blacksmiths, carpenters, schoolmaster, bakers, coffee roasters, rope braiders, spinners... to be followed by a carriage ride and a countryside themed dinner.

October: forest and apple feast

Apples will be pressed into juice, wood artisans will show off their skills. There will, of course, be traditional snacks and a fantastic dinner.
