The Erquelinne mirobrewery, by the French border, is sure to delight visitors with its malty creations, inspired by traditional festivities.
The site, focusing on sustainability and natural products, makes unfiltered beers and can also make bespoke recipes (450 litres minimum).
Beers: Angelus blonde, Angelus brune (dark), Angelus spéciale Noël (Christmas beer), La Sambresse (bière de Sambre et de tendresse and Abbaye de la Thure).
All beers are made and bottled at the brewery.
Right in front of the brewery is a hop plantation, which can be visited on request. This garden also features brewing material.
50 persons max.
The site hosts every second weekend of September its hop festival, complete with a competition celebrating the best hop picker. A unique event in Wallonia.
The site also holds a birthday party on the second weekend of December. The statue of Saint Arnould (protector of brewers) is brought back in the building, the mash production is open to the public and the day finished with a music paced, torchlit procession. A wonderful way to raise a glass to nature.
