This itinerary takes you to the gentle wooded countryside of the Haut Pays region through charming villages situated along the French border.
Many traces of activities that once reigned here are still visible like the shopfronts (closed) of old shops dating from a bygone era when trade and contraband caused the misfortune and fortune of the region. Exciting discoveries and enriching encounters with artisans await you as you travel along this itinerary.
Make sure you stop off in Mons, previously European Capital of Culture, where a host of museums and historic sites are well worth a little detour. Mons also saw its town staging both the first and last Allied engagements of World War One. The Mons Memorial Museum is a must if your are visting the place. find other producers, experiences and ideas for trips on our Tourist Information website.
