Situated between Nivelles and La Louvière, the Ecaussinnes-Lalaing Castle proposes visits and entertainment in an authentic medieval décor.
This medieval fortress is built on the foundations of the former castle and preserves the memory ofthe families who lived there: the Lalaings, the Croÿs, and the van der Burchs. The ground floor evokes the Middle Ages (the armoury is impressive). The first floor is reminiscent of the 17th century. Very varied collections are exhibited and make the caste an interesting museum.
The castle and the vegetable garden are listed as exceptional heritage sites in Wallonia. The fortress was also used as a filming stage for movies and TV series such as the BBC's "The White Queen"
