Located near Bastogne, the Recogne military cemetery contains the remains of 6,807 German soldiers having died during the Battle of the Bulge (WW2).

The site was created by US troops following the victory of the allies at the Battle of the Bulge. It originally was meant for both German and American soldiers: the latter were transferred to the Henri-Chapelle cemetery at the end of the war.

This cemetery is distinguished by a chapel built from pink Eifel sandstone, its internal walls built of slate.
