History

Oak, birch and beech trees used to grow here a long time ago. Local villages started exploiting this incredible resource in medieval time:

  • cutting down woodlands to make space for cereal fields
  • harvesting hay and bedding for animals
  • grazing fields...

Good to know

  • Start from the Botrange nature centre
  • Not accessible when the temperatures are too high (risk of fires)
