A fantastic exhibition dedicated to Belgian artist Martine Canneel.

Who is Martine Canneel?

Martien Canneel (1936) experiments, in the 60ies, with Plexiglas, resins, neon - all new media then.

Surfing the dynamic, freeing vibes of the time, inspired Joseph Cornell's work, she designs vibrant sculptures of light and colours, as well as boxes mixing optical effects.

Travelling through Australia in the 80s, she then gives up industrial material for wood.

Her later passions - living in nature and Buddhism - bring more simple lines to her pieces, now created from items foraged near her home.
