Peter Mitchell's latest exhibition (A new refutation of the Viking 4 space mission) at the Musée de la Photographie (Charleroi) is sure to prove quite fascinating...
Peter Mitchell started taking pictures of Leeds (England) in 1974. At the time, though his passion was drawing, he worked as a lorry driver and often drove through its streets.
Along his pictures, the artist presents a social and economic profile of the town and the people living there in the 70s. Expect pictures of small businesses, factories, workers... Following the conspiracy theories of the times, he attributes the pictures to aliens exploring the city. Make sure to read the captions, filled with humour and bringing each scene even more alive
From Tuesday 01 December 2020 to Sunday 31 January 2021.
