This exhibition - Roy Lichtenstein, eclectic visions - retraces the work of this American pop art genius. See it at the BAM in Mons.
His signature style is such his work his recognisable at first sight. Lichtenstein found inspiration in advertisement and industrial production. His favourite themes are object, female figures and cartoons.
The artist was always looking for new media to experience with: enamel, ceramic, Plexiglas, Rowlux...
What to see at the Lichtenstein exhibition?
Visitors can admire the variety of technique used by the painter through a hundred of his masterpieces (etchings, sculptures, wallpapers, banners...): a superb retrospective organised by themes dear to the artist but also a reflexion on consumer society and the mechanical reproductivity of artworks.
