The Eastern Cantons, a nature destination in Wallonia

Located by the border with the Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg, the Eastern Cantons really is a little paradise in the Ardenne. The region stretches over 1,050 km² and counts 92,000 habitants.

It may sound small in size but its landscapes are extraordinarily varied. Stunning farms and castles dominate in the the north, while the centre enjoys the Hautes Fagnes-Eifel nature park, quite unique in Europe with its 5,000 hectares of peatland and marshes.

The Hautes Fagnes-Eifel nature park is sure to make an impression on nature lovers of all levels of expertise. It also features Begium’s culminating point, the Botrange nature centre and its Maison du Parc Hautes Fagnes-Eifel (694 m)

Go south and you will find the lakes of Robertveille and of , ideal locations to enjoy water sports in summer or simply to relax. Go even more south and you will stumble on the romantic Our valley, nicknamed the pearl of the Eastern Cantons.
