St Denis’ Church was a former collegiate church founded in 987 which probably formed part of the city’s defences. Its tower, integrated into the fortifications under Notger, proved the perfect observation point. The nave built beginning of the IXth century is the oldest in Liège.
Make sure you have a look at the retable dedicated to the Passion of the Christ, is a real 16th-century wooden sculpture masterpiece.
The cloisters were rebuilt in the 18th century.
