There is something for everyone in Stavelot and so many reasons to visit we have stopped counting: engines roaring on the Francorchamps racetracks, the most cheerful atmosphere for carnival when the Blancs Moussis ghost-like characters join in, enchanting nature walks, the charm of old stones...

Start your visit by the historical heart of Stavelot, featuring stone and timbered houses built in the 17th century, picturesque narrow streets and adorable fountains. Pass the Grand Place, the main, paved square then set for the abbey and its three themed museums.

Always vibrant and dynamic, the city is rich in exhibitions, international festivals (songs, music, tales, theatre...) and folkloric events, such as the Laetare, one of Belgium's favourite carnivals. There you will meet one of the local stars, the Blanc Moussi...

Nature lovers can also enjoy more than 500 km of walking and cycling trails, a fantastic way to explore the nearby countryside and forests. You could also indulge in a stroll along the Amblève river or admire the Coo waterfall - both iconic sights.
