The Bastogne War Museum is fully devoted to World War 2 in Belgium. In December, this cultural centre will commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, which took place in the region and saw the city besieged by German troops.

The Nuts weekend

A famous word in Bastogne. Three days after the Germans began their advance on Bastogne, US General Anthony McAuliffe established an emergency HQ at the Bastogne Barracks.

The Germans, encircling the town, sent a message demanding surrender. McAuliffe’s response was short but clear: “Nuts!”. The commemorations decided to pay homage to this great military man...

A program rich in history

The many events planned will, of course, focus on the 1940-1945 period and features:

  • A book and historical document fair
  • Historical re-enactments
  • WW2 veterans
