Partly located on the Hautes Fagnes plateau, Malmedy enjoys stunning views. The region, based on peat bogs and quite unique in Europe, offers a much different flora and fauna to the rest of the country, with beautiful woodlands to the south of the commune. There is much to discover, come along!
The Baugnez 44 Historical Center
This museum is considered one of the best sites on the Battle of the Bulge. The historical events are explained through reconstitutions, displays, film footage and a multilingual audio guide. Quite a few unique pieces concerning the Baugnez/Malmedy Massacre are exhibited here. A must for all history lovers.
The green loop of Malmedy
Nature, history and beer discoveries are just a bike ride away... , linking Malmedy to Lamonriville, is a fantastic opportunity to explore the region as well as one of the loveliest breweries in the country, that of Bellevaux.
The Château of Reinhardstein
Constructed in 1354 by Renaud de Waimes, this castle was home to many families through time. Destroyed after the French Revolution, it was entirely rebuilt in 1969 and is now a museum featuring armours, weapons, tapestries and period furniture.
