Near the centre of Beauraing and its many shops, this park offers the perfect opportunity for a romantic stroll, family time or even a BBQ with friends. Rich in wide range of trees typical of the Calestienne region, it was turned into an arboretum with educational panels along the paths presenting its botanical assets and hints of its historical past:
- Sainte-Marie castle,
- Charles Quint tower
- Saint-Pierre chapel,
- a monumental porch,
- lime kiln (in front of the park)
Among the many trees growing there you will see boxwood, dogwood, rosehips... and even giant sequoias (imported, of course), dominating the plain below the Saint-Marie castle. The Tourist office organised themed guided tours of the park and its arboretum (do contact them for dates).
Beauraing is also known for the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary... not far from the park.
