The Ardennes American Military Cemetery

This US Military Cemetery was inaugurated in 1960 and contains the remains of 5,328 soldiers who died in the capture of Aachen in October 1944 and later during the Battle of the Ardennes. This imposing memorial is of rectangular shape with a majestic American eagle decorating the south face. The sides are engraved with the names of 462 soldiers missing in action or unidentified. The building houses a chapel and immense wall maps retracing military operations in Europe and the Ardennes.
