This 4-hectare arboretum can be found on a plain in the woodlands between Bertrix and Herbeumont, at an altitude of 420 metres.

History and structure

This arboretum, planted a hundred years ago in a star shape, features 78 types of rare trees (from South East Asia, temperate parts of Europe and North America) as well as 46 types of softwood. The well-designed path has a series of panels presenting both the local fauna and flora.

  • All year round (no hunting in this part of the forest)
  • To get there: walk toward the Sainte-Barbe chapel then head for the Château des fées
  • The Arboretum is on the B1 and B2 walks indicated on the Bertrix-Herbeumont IGN map.
