Discover a secular regional traditional: crossage, a medieval version of Lacrosse, played in Chièvres and many Walloon villages. This event takes place every year the day after Mardi gras.
This amazing game, played in the street, consists in hitting a chôlette (a ball made of foam or wood) with a rabot (stick). The aim is to hit beer barrels set in front of each café in town. The game starts from noon.
A few days beforehand, during the Soumonces, the Prince of street Lacrosse is crowned.
COVID-19 : in accordance with the latest Covid-19 restrictions, most museums, tourist attractions and information centres are now closed in Wallonia, and events cancelled.
