This nature reserve in Florenville, composed of 5 lakes and charming forests, stretches over 10 hectares.
The main lake can be found by the Epious castle, where Napoleon spend a few years. Though a listed monument, it sadly now lays abandoned.
The site is stunning, particularly so in autumn, when the tree leaves adopt particularly warm tones, The atmosphere really is enchanting and you may very well see locals foraging for mushrooms or fishing.
We loved... Book a walk with a nature guide to learn more about the local flora and fauna. This can be arranged with the Florenville Tourist Office, who also has a map presenting fantastic hikes in the region.
