Mousny is famous for its blancs cailloux or white stones, beautiful pieces of white quartz, scattered in the countryside, similar to menhirs.
An enchanting legend
A shepherd once took his sheep grazing in the upper plains between the village of Ortho and the Ourthe valley, where heather grows abundantly. A pilgrim asked him, in the name of Saint Thibault (much loved in the region) to share some of his water, which the shepherd refused. As the poor soul was walking away, too slowly to his taste, he took a rock and threw it at the poor man. Little did he know this was Jesus himself. The stone magically bounced back and touching the shepherd, turned him and his flock in stone.
