The Germans lost the battle of the Bulge at La Gleize. This page of history comes with countless anecdotes. This Tiger II tank is the only one to have stayed on the battlefield in 1945: it was exchanged for a bottle of cognac! An impressive beast of 69 tons, the biggest second world war tank, still sits in front of the presbytery, used as an infirmary by the Waffen SS. It is now a museum dedicated to December 1944.
