- Exhibition
The MACS' latest exhibition, No room for regret, is a retrospective of Johan Muyle's work, one of the most important Belgian artists of his generation.
Who is Johan Muyle?
Animated sculptures of assemblages, installations composed of animated monumental paintings, bespoke motorbikes: Johan Muyle found inspiration in his travels around the world, meeting and working with a wide variety of people.
His faith in humanism, often put at risk, grew with the craft, beliefs, rituals, pictures, popular tales he discovered along his life. His interpretation helps us reflect of the state of the world and its contradictions. He denounces human vanity, governments' capacity for inhumanity, show business and religions' hypocrisy but also celebrates heroes of the revolution and resistance.
What to see at the exhibition?
- Iconic sculptures
- Installations never showed in Belgium or revisited with a twist
- Recent creations
The exhibition was designed by the artist himself and offers an interactive and immersive walk through his universe and the museum's architecture.
