A surprising an unexpected tradition: scarecrows will appear here and there in Piétrebais and nearby villages.
It all started in 2000 and proved such a success the festivities are repeated every year. For 2 days (sometime between mid-July and mid-September depending on the year), strange creatures made of straw and cloth take Piétrebais, Happeau, Chapelle-Saint-Laurent and Roux-Miroir over. Hundreds of them! Worry not: there is nothing scary about them. They are, on the contrary quite sweet and charming.
