La Roche à Lomme, known for its history and incredibly rich flora, is quite exceptional. The rocky hillside on the South side of the site feature Mediterranean plants, highlighted by abundance of boxwood.
The limestone peak, topped by a cross, dominates the region, offering a stunning view on the Viroin. No wonder that Neolithic tribes, Romans, Gallic and Middle Age men settled there. The most signification construction on the site was a fortified, square tower at the beginning of the Roman era.
Open throughout the year. Be careful during the hunting season (October to December included), the site can be part of the local hunting grounds: please check with the Tourist Office beforehand.
