Come and see over a thousand actors dressed in 16th century inspired outfits in Lessine. Jugglers, wandering entertainers, musicians, soldiers are sure to capture your imagination.

A journey through time

This event commemorated the date (in 1578) the city was freed by the Compagnie de la Jeunesse, which captain, Sébastien Tramasure, claimed to have been helped by the Virgin Mary. Known as "the day of the assault" between 1591 and the second half of the 19th century, the celebrations were renamed "festin" or feast.

For two days, the city will pretend to be in the 16th century, starting with the wonderful atmosphere of the large Renaissance markets, bringing together artisans and culture.

Wonderful activities throughout the weekend

Here are a few we particularly love:

  • Saturday and Sunday: the fair with artists and artisans in period costumes
  • Saturday evening: Renaissance Night Feast with a show
  • Sunday: Renaissance mass, processions and sword ceremony

The Renaissance shows will take place in front of the Notre Dame à la rose Hospital, right after the procession

Come and experience a Renaissance party in Lessines.
