La Ferme Castrale invites you to discover its 3 cultural spaces: the Musée de la Gourmandise, the Musée des Postes restantes and its library.

This site, one of the most beautiful barns in the Province of Liège, is composed of 17th and 18th century buildings organised as a square.


The Musée de la Gourmandise

A veritable cabinet of culinary curiosities, this amazing space revisits the love for food and cooking through 1,200 objects, furniture and authentic paintings, some rare other unusual and fascinating. You will learn about the fidibus holder, the zagueman, the bouzillé, the fly box, the symbolic value of cucumber and artichoke, the multiple uses of sugar...

The library

You will find 20,000 books on site all dedicated to gastronomy. It is one of the 20 largest libraries of the kind in Europe.

The Musée des Postes restantes

Only museum dedicated to mail in Wallonia, this site retraces the story this institution in the country.
