The Grand Historical Procession of Tournai marks the end of Wallonia’s colourful festival season. The grandeur of event (not to mention the pomp of the costumes) gives it a fitting send-off...
Created in remembrance of the end of the Plague in 1092, the celebrations see the treasure and shrine of Tournai’s cathedral reverentially marched through the city, escorted by musicians and choristers.
A truly sumptuous show
The parade takes place every second Sunday of September
The procession leaves the cathedra and returns around 11.45 am.
Guided tours of the cathedral at 11 am and 4 pm (French, Dutch and Sign language)
