Heritage, history and architecture
UNESCO Route
This 440 km cycling route takes you on a tour of Wallonia’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, in ten stages, from the cathedral city of Tournai to the famous coal mine at Blegny.
Napoléon Trail
This route follows the Napoléon trail in Wallonia for 94 km, from Beaumont to Waterloo via Thuin, Charleroi, Fleurus, Ligny.
The cycle path follows in the Emperor's footsteps as he headed for his historic confrontation with the Duke of Wellington and his Prussian allies.
Chaussée romaine Bavay-Tongrès
This ancient 145 km route is packed with historic and archaeological heritage. It’s possible to ride along a section of it, on the 43.5km circuit called ‘De Gembloux à Ramillies’ created by Chemins du Rail.

Forêts d'Ardenne
Through a dynamic website, "Les Forêts d'Ardenne" offers "forest" stays/packages that include VTC (touring bike) and VTT (mountain bike) routes, as well as cycling activities in the territories of four forested areas:
- The great forest of Saint-Hubert,
- The great forest of Anlier,
- The forest of Pays de Chimay,
- And forest of Semois and Houille.
An application allows easy downloading of the walks with GPS routes, maps, points of interest, dining options, accommodation, circuit distance, and elevation.…

Route des Forêts
A circuit of 191 km in La Grande Forêt de Saint-Hubert in the Ardennes, suitable for both conventional bikes and electric bikes, with various departure points.
You can either travel independently, using a guidebook, or take a holiday package of several days with half-board accommodation, with or without baggage transfer services, organised by the specialist Ardennes trekking association La Maison de la Randonnée – GTA Belgium.
Transardennaise (Mountain Bike)
This 170 km mountain bike (VTT) trek across the southern Ardennes is perfect for all-terrain cyclists in search of nature and tranquillity.
The route from La Roche-en-Ardenne to Bouillon can be navigated independently with a guidebook, or with a 2–4 day holiday package. Baggage transfer is optional.
NEW: the “Transardennaise Nord” route - 102 km between Malmedy and La Roche-en-Ardenne.
Ride through the Towns and Cities of Wallonia
The Belgian cycling association Pro Velo offers guided bike tours in Wallonia’s most attractive towns and cities, such as Mons, Liège and Namur – a fun and fascinating way to discover these historic places.
The tours usually range from 15-45 km and are accompanied by a guide who enhances your experience with commentary and anecdotes at various stopping points along the way.

The « Orval » route
A great way to explore the lovely Gaume region in southern Wallonia, in several stages.
This 78 km circuit crosses gently sloping plateaux called ‘cuestas’ and includes a few steep climbs, but the reward is unforgettable views over the surrounding countryside and the pretty valley of the River Semois.
The highlight is a visit to Orval Abbey, home of the world-famous Trappist beer.
The Wine Route of Namur Country
Ride along unexpected paths to discover the wines of the Pays de Namur. This 159 km trail snakes passes through no fewer than 12 vineyards.
